1. Information We Collect
No Personal Data Stored on Our Servers.
StoryPad is designed to respect your privacy. We do not collect or store your personal information on our servers. All your journal entries, images, and nickname are stored locally on your device and backed up directly to your Google Drive account using Google’s API. We do not have access to this data at any time.
Nickname
You may provide a nickname for display purposes within the app. This nickname is stored locally on your device and also synced to your Google Drive backup.
Anonymous Analytics and Crash Reports
We collect anonymous app usage analytics and crash reports through Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app’s performance and user experience. These analytics do not include any personally identifiable information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To enable you to create, view, and manage your entries and data within the app.
- To back up your journal entries, images, and nickname directly to your Google Drive account for safekeeping.
- To display your chosen nickname in the app interface.
- To collect anonymous usage data and crash reports that help us improve app stability and performance.
3. Google Drive Backup and SSO
Your data backups and authentication are handled directly through Google Drive and Google Single Sign-On (SSO). We do not store or manage your Google account credentials or personal data.
Your app data is stored in a private, app-specific folder within your Google Drive. This folder is not visible in the standard Google Drive interface to ensure your backups remain secure and separate from your other files.

4. In-App Purchases
StoryPad offers optional one-time in-app purchases (such as add-ons like relax sounds or template). Payments are processed securely through the Google Play Store using RevenueCat, a third-party service that helps us manage purchases and restore them across your devices.
We do not collect, store, or access your credit card details or other billing information. To link purchases across your devices, we generate an anonymous identifier by hashing your Google Drive backup email address with a secret key stored in the app. This hash cannot be reversed to reveal your original email.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use Google Analytics for anonymous usage tracking. This helps us understand how the app is used but does not identify individual users.
6. Data Security
We prioritize the security of your data by:
- Storing your data locally on your device.
- Backing up data only directly to your Google Drive account, using secure Google APIs.
- Using secure Firebase services for anonymous analytics and crash reporting.
We also recommend that you use secure, trusted networks and keep your device’s software up to date to further protect your data.
7. Children’s Privacy
StoryPad is not intended for children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You control your journal entries, images, and nickname through the StoryPad app. You can delete or modify your data at any time within the app.
Currently, StoryPad does not provide an option to opt out of anonymous analytics and crash reporting.
